Last week I missed the BASE Connect Networking meeting for the first time since arriving at BASE in October 2025, and I missed being in the room! For those who do not know, I was looking after our new Crawley Innovation Centre on the doorstep of Gatwick Airport at Manor Royal whilst it’s Centre Manager took a week’s holiday. It is a lovely refurbished modern building, with workshops, offices and a large business lounge if anyone knows any companies down that way looking for offices. Now back in our splendid and characterful BASE Bordon Innovation Centre, I am looking forward to the next event on Friday 10th July and to catching up with everyone before the summer holiday season begins. Remember that if you recommend anyone who then takes a Private Office, there is a £200 thank you reward, and if someone just takes a Dedicated Desk of Lounge Membership there is still a £50 reward waiting.
If you have not been to a BASE Connect event before, we like to keep things informal. It is a great place to de-compress and re-charge for a couple of hours, making new contacts, sparking collaborations or new ideas, having great conversations. If you enjoy helping others and believe like I do that what goes around, comes around, this is the place to be every month or as often as you can make it.
Join us on Friday 10th July, 10:00 to 12:00 for BASE Connect Networking at BASE Bordon. It’s free, everyone is friendly, and the room will be full of local business owners who want to help each other grow. We have now reverted to holding these events on the second Friday of each month (although we will take a vote at the next meeting on whether we pause for the August holiday season).

This regular monthly event is always completely free. You are welcome to bring a colleague or a friend – the more local connections, the better – Just ask them to register through our website events page.

FAQ
Is the networking free? – Yes it is completely free and always will be, we want to make networking accessible to all and for local businesses to connect no matter what their size.
Is there somewhere to park? – yes, there are plenty of parking spaces in front and behind the building (go past reception and carry on round to the right and behind the building). If the car park is full please use the Phoenix Theatre car park at at the end of the road.
Will there be refreshments? – yes there will be snacks and refreshments available.
I have never been networking before and am a little nervous – please let us know if this is the case and we will make sure to greet you and introduce you to a couple of people to get you started.
I can only come for some of the time – that is absolutely fine, you don’t have to stay for the full 2 hours, just turn up when you can, and leave when you want to.
Can I bring a friend? – yes the more the merrier – just make sure they also register on Eventbrite so we know how many people are coming as the meeting is limited to 45 people.
If I change my mind on the day is that okay? – yes we absolutely understand that things come up, so just let us know via email and register for next month’s instead.
