BASE Bordon hosts UK Space Agency Incubator

February 6th 2020

BASE Bordon has been host to eight companies taking part in a UK Space Agency incubator programme.  Oxford Innovation is delivering its second incubator at the Centre, which helps businesses create new products and services that build on space technologies and satellite data.  The participants have had access to experts from the space industry as well as business growth coaches, and later in 2020 there will be the opportunity to meet potential investors.

Tatiana Suarez, of Flightform Insights, said “I was very impressed by the quality of the speakers and the range of companies in the incubator. I’m glad to be a part of it. It’s good for me to expand my network in the UK and have a better view of the opportunities on offer for us.”

The Space Incubator has been coordinated by Elaine Kearney, Director of Innovation at BASE Bordon. Elaine said “From day one the participants and experts were working together on genuine opportunities created by this growing sector.  The UK Space Agency has big ambitions for the UK to take advantage of our massive investment in space technologies and services, and at the Incubator we’re already seeing innovative ideas taking shape.“

Updates on progress of the participating incubator companies will be posted on the BASE Bordon website. According to Matthew Jenson of Paromat, “I have found this to be the best incubator so far, it really has been of great value.”
